Hi FA members,

I am Lydia Hurlbut and live near Los Angeles, CA. I am passionate about leadership and everything to do with health and wellness.

I am a certified life coach, Reiki master and business woman for the past 14 years. My greatest strength is not letting the word "no" stop me with executing visionary ideas. I believe in the power of gratitude and positivity to change the world.

I love being a mom  to Kyra and Myles and being married to Shane. I enjoy the challenge of running a business, sharing knowledge, learning new skills, walking and hiking, learning pilates, traveling, coaching, giving Reiki, singing, listening to music and hanging with friends. I recently gave a talk to the Academy Gold Rising Students about GRIT Leadership. Dr. Terry Schroeder  is my guest on an upcoming Inner Circle podcast where we talk about injury prevention, supplements and leadership. It is my dream that every set will have a Wellness Coordinator one day!

Hello Community! Will be shooting around Saskatoon in Canada. Anyone know of a good rental house in that area or somewhere I could rent some lights? Also, might need a sound person for a couple of days for an interview.

Hope someone in the community can help!

Gracias!

Hey All. If anyone is available to help (for gas money and food) tomorrow Sunday May 26th from 3pm to 10pm, (or even just 2 hours from 3pm for the strike in) in La Brea area (LA) please hit me up at icecreamflicks@gmail.com. It's to help me set up (& take down if available) a 2 person interview area, and also potentially operate a mini 'red carpet' interview cam (Sony, plus Easy Rig), at a private screening of an independent film called 'Final Heat' (set in the world of 'Cross Fit'). (Camera and grip skills a plus). We'll be interviewing Cast and Crew formally plus getting some ad hoc hand held interviews. Thanks and otherwise have a great long weekend!

Hey there! I'm Brendan Sweeney, a creative producer and director based in Los Angeles. Growing up in New Jersey, my love for movies blossomed as my father and I frequented local theaters, and I spent countless hours consuming every movie possible.

My filmmaking journey truly took off when I attended the Pittsburgh Filmmakers Institute. It was there that I directed and produced my  short film, "Kiss Me Goodbye," which became a rallying point for my career and believe that this was something possible. Through the support and dedication of fellow creatives, we raised an impressive $30,000 to shoot the film on 16mm ORWO film stock. The film becoming a finalist at the IndustryBOOST Competition and receiving official selections at festivals like the Buffalo International Film Festival, Blackbird Film Festival, Charlotte Film Festival and more.

In 2016, I made the leap to Los Angeles, and destiny led me to an incredible opportunity with Hurlbut Visuals, the company helmed by CEO Lydia Hurlbut and  ASC cinematographer, Shane Hurlbut. Within a year, I found myself promoted to Shane's personal assistant, absorbing invaluable knowledge and honing my craft in cinematography. Extremely thankful for that experience and it laid the foundation to better understand what it means to be a filmmaker.

My journey continued with Orange Robot in 2018, producing captivating behind-the-scenes content and conducting interviews for major brands like Sony and Apple TV. Working on the hit series "For All Mankind" was a particularly thrilling experience. The following year, Orange Robot took on my next project, "Impossibility: Possibility," which premiered at Oaxaca Film Fest and was the semi-finalist at jellyFEST and Los Angeles CineFest. I was beyond thrilled when it was named Short Film of the Day at Shorted among many other publications and festivals.

Fast forward to 2023, and I'm now proud to be a rostered director at Matiz Creative, as well as the creative producer at Filmmakers Academy. These roles allow me to bring my extensive experience and technical expertise to support and uplift aspiring filmmakers.

I'm incredibly passionate about storytelling and constantly strive to push the boundaries of creativity. My ultimate goal is to enter the video game and interactive arts space, crafting immersive and captivating narratives that resonate with audiences in exciting new ways.

I'm thrilled to connect with fellow filmmakers and lend a helping hand in bringing their projects to life. Let's collaborate and take your vision to the next level!
