Hi guys, I finished the advanced cinematography career path and emailed customer service for the certificate of completion last week, does anyone know how long it takes for them to send it out? Thanks

Hi guys, I'm a producer and DOP working for an agency in the UK. I have an automotive client based near Detroit, MI who I'm working with on a shoot planned for the back end of the year, and I'm looking for a local production company to partner with to help me deliver corporate video and photography. I'm looking for support with sourcing crew, talent, locations, equipment, etc. If anyone is in the Detroit area I'd love to talk to you, or if anyone can recommend a local production company I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, Paul

I've been looking at these, the Pictor zooms and the Catta zooms. They look great on YouTube but no rental house has them for rental in Manchester, UK. For the money they look pretty great.

Jerry Nikolaev thanks Jerry, I really appreciate the feedback! With tech clients I always tend to go more toward cooler grades, but I guess it would look nice with a warmer grade. Something to think about for the next one

Great answer, thanks David! I mainly shoot with the Red V-Raptor and Komodo so should work out well. Have you got any recommendations for a smaller/more lightweight gimbal? The Ronin 2 is great but a bit too big to travel with when I'm working around Europe.

Thanks for the recommendation Shane, my local rental house has the optimo's so I'm going to go in an have a look at them. Have you got any recommendations for a full frame/VV zoom I can use with a V-Raptor?

Has anyone used the Angenieux EZ 1 or 2 on a gimbal?
I'm looking to buy some new lenses, I'm a big fan of the Angenieux Optimo zooms and primes but can't afford them so I'm going to go test some EZ 1 and 2 lenses but before I do I'm just wondering if anyone had used them on a gimbal?
90% of my work is with corporate and commercial clients so as you can imagine my workflow is very fast on shoot days. I tend to avoid primes and go with zooms so I can work faster. I've been using an 18-35 Sigma Cine zoom on a gimbal, I love the small size, nice image quality and constant T2 aperture (and they're very cheap), but I always find that anything outside of the middle third of the image distorts, and the focus breathing and lack of par focus make them really annoying to work with.
Any other recommendations, outside of the Angenieux EZ's, that could work on a gimbal would be really welcome, thank you all!

Hi all,

This is a piece of client work I recently completed, first time I've done a shoot with a car mount, we used the Tilta Hydra Alien car mount. I had a team of 4 with me, the director, myself as cinematographer, a focus puller, and a driver/camera technician. I had control of the gimbal and then I had a focus puller who was in control of focus and iris. Unfortunately Shane's new lesson with the Filmotechnic car arm was released after this!

I'm based in the UK but most of my work is over in Europe, this was shot in France, around the Loire Valley and Le Mans.

It was shot on the RED Komodo, I chose that camera for the global shutter, and the Zeiss CP.2 lenses because of the lightweight form factor. I probably wouldn't use the CP.2 lenses again, they look a little too sharp

The main thing I'm unhappy with is the color grade, because of the schedule we had to shoot a lot in bright daylight and then tried to pull it back to make it look like dawn and dusk and I feel like it doesn't look right.

I'd love some feedback if anyone has any, it would be massively appreciated.

Massive thank you to Shane and Lydia for the Filmmakers Academy, you're both wonderful people for making this platform for us all and putting out great education for everyone
