Shane Hurlbut let me just clarify so you need to have the entire space to prevent getting smoke in the shots? Maybe that is why I’m still photography I was taught to just haze behind the subject. The haze in Into the Badlands just looks so good.

Shane..There is a terrific use of haze here. Can you just give a few do and don't on the use of haze and your method of applying it?....Bruce

This was a really nice interview that I think covered all areas. Really good conversation on the health side and interesting to listen to George talk about his transition into being a DP. There is no sign from the Gods that you are ready to make these upward moves in a job path, you have to believe in yourself and just take the leap. I have never heard one person say I was sure I was ready and you always hear from seasoned people in every  job category what they did not know in any given project. The great thing about this community is that you have resources to go to when you do not know . I think Alice Brooks talked about that as well.

The event was fantastic and amazing to finally get to meet Shane. Lydia, Sherri. Jamee Ranta. Wonderful to see Kyra, Brendan, Justin Jones, Jason Robbins again. Shane did a fantastic demo and listening to Alice Brooks and her other DPs was also very worth while.

I also got to see vendors like Mary Glickman from Nanlite who I have know for many years. It was a terrific day.

Congrats to the entire FMA team for a great networking event at Cinegear this year. Great to meet Shane, Lydia and Sherri finally and great to see Kyra, Brendan, Justin and Jason Robbins again.

Fantastic presentation Shane as always!

Thanks to Nanlux and great to see my old friend Marty Glickman from Nanlite, and a very interesting talk by Alice Brooks and the rest of that panel.

Lydia Hurlbut...I also found Shane's perspective on abusive directors and others interesting. He turned that into a lesson on resilience . A positive lesson. I did this myself in younger days but I came to find that most of those people were the least creative and just projecting their fears and other insanity onto others. After 30+ years in the entertainment business I just think that behavior is just not worth the experience or the money. That said I do agree with Shane, it was a lesson in resilience at that time, and then someone taught me about personal power and boundaries. Love to have this conversation with you guys one of these days and I always appreciate the depth you both bring to all of this.
